2014-15 was another huge year for the Youth Coalition team, as we strove to build on our work in policy development, sector development, advocacy and representation. In particular I commend the work the team has done throughout the year to really raise the profile of young people's voice in decision making, and in the ongoing work to support front line youth workers.
The year was not an easy one in youth policy nationally, as we saw the impacts of the loss of our national peak, the Youth Connections program, and the announcement of the winding up of the Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies and National Youth Week.
With that in mind the local story has been a little different with our focus on advocacy around areas such as education equity, mental health, and homelessness gaining momentum and developing clear shared messages.
As always the passion, dedication, diversity and strength the staff team bring to the work of the organisation has been nothing short of breath taking.
A huge thanks goes out to all of the young people, workers, decision makers, and other stakeholders who got involved in our work this year. Working along side others who are striving to make the community the best it can be makes our mission clear.
